I’ve started another project, and yes, I will finish this one! We are expecting another new grandson in a few weeks, and I decided that he really needs a new quilt to welcome him! Nothing like (me) starting at the last-minute!
It all started with this fabric. The baby’s bedding is going to be from this fabric line by Michael Miller. I loved these colors and this pattern. So I ordered a piece of each fabric in the line, that was available at fabric.com. There were 14 different prints, the line is called ‘Backyard Baby’, and it is so adorable!
So these two pictures show the fabric all washed, pressed and ready to cut.
I chose a pattern from this book, ‘sweetwater’s Simple Home’.
If you haven’t seen this book yet, I’ll be talking about it in another post soon!
I chose this pattern….
I thought it looked pretty cute, and that these fabrics would work well in it. The pattern actually calls for 10″ pre cuts (layer cakes), of 40 different fabrics. So I just cut 40 – 10″ squares to use. Deciding how to lay out the fabrics will probably take me awhile, since I have duplicates of the fabrics. Decisions, decisions!
So this is where I am now. I’ll be starting to do additional cutting and assembling tonight. I’ll let you know how it goes! This looks fun!
